Gather your blankets and chairs, pack a picnic and come out to the Town Center Plaza for free live music! Free popcorn provided by Coppell Parks and Rec!

mardi gras in the fall

Saturday, October 1, 6 - 10 pm 

The Square at Old Town Coppell, 768 W. Main Street 

Celebrate Mardi Gras in the Fall with live music, festivities, and food! Wear your purple, gold and green and collect beads as we put a new twist on the Mardi Gras celebration!  The kiddos can enjoy arts and crafts, dancing, and face painting!


OAK FEST 

Saturday, October 15, 5 - 9 pm 

Wagon Wheel Park, 345 Freeport Pkwy.

At Oak Fest, we celebrate life in Co​ppell being as diverse as the oak trees.  Building on our community’s roots and growing strength, we pause for an evening of community fun, live music, and fellowship. Enjoy performances by the Limelight Band and Professor Brainius, as well as lighted train rides, bounce houses, zip lines, face painting, great food, and more!​​  ​​​​​​Want to be a vendor at this event? Apply here.

LIGHTED PARADE & TREE LIGHTING
Saturday, December 3, 6:30 - 9:00 pm 

Parade Route – Samuel to Parkway Blvd. To Town Center Blvd.

Tree Lighting at Town Center Plaza, 255 Parkway Blvd. 

Get into the holiday spirit at Coppell’s kick-off to the holidays! Every parade float will be illuminated with lights!  After the parade, head over to the Town Center Plaza for the Tree lighting, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday treats, live music from the Justin Cash Trio, and lots of festive fun!​​ Be a part of the lighted prade - Apply here.

EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Saturday, March 26, 10 am - 12 pm
Wagon Wheel Park, 345 Freeport Pkwy.

"Hippity Hoppity"  up and come out to the annual Eggstravaganza event, full of activities including bounce houses, face painting, live music, photos with the Bunny, and more!  Egg hunts begin promptly at 10:30AM for kids up to age 6, and at 11:00AM for kids age 7 - 10 years. Candy and toy-filled eggs are in abundance at this event, so dust off those baskets and join us for a morning filled with fun and festivities!

ECO COPPELL EARTHFEST

Saturday, April 16, 10 am - 2 pm

Town Center Plaza, 255 Parkway Blvd.

Earthfest is a celebration of Coppell's commitment to the environment - an entertaining and educational experience! Visit the many environmental education booths to learn how you can lead a more sustainable lifestyle.  Don't forget to shop the plant sale, grab a bite to eat and enjoy live music by Definitely, Maybe. This event will also feature secure document shredding on-site, bulk trash disposal, collection of household items for donation to Metrocrest Services, performances by Professor Brainius, photo booths, arts and crafts, and more! Would you like to have eco-friendly booth at this event? Apply here. FOOD TRUCK FRENZY

The Square at Old Town, 768 W. Main Street

Celebrate Old Town Coppell's anniversary at this very special event!  Pack a picnic or check out an Old Town restaurant and enjoy a live concert featuring Texas Flood! Bring the kids and let them splash in the Main Street Interactive Fountain or play on the playground! 

SPIRIT OF COPPELL CELEBRATION AND FIREWORKS​

Sunday, July 3, 7 - 10 pm

WAGON WHEEL PARK, 345 FREEPORT PKWY.

Celebrate Independence Day with us! Experience the sounds of one of DFW’s most popular party bands, the Emerald City Band. Emerald City brings a high energy, visually exciting show that gets every crowd motivated and on their feet. Additional entertainment includes bounce houses, face painting, and photo booths. Attendees are encouraged to pack a picnic or purchase food at the event. A variety of food will be available for purchase, including BBQ, pizza, funnel cakes, and turkey legs. A spectacular fireworks display, choreographed to patriotic music, will begin at 9:30PM.  Please note that due to the park reconstruction project at Andrew Brown East, this year’s celebration and fireworks will take place at Wagon Wheel Park, located at 345 Freeport Pkwy.​​​

SPIRIT OF COPPELL PATRIOTIC PARADE

BACK TO SCHOOL ICE CREAM SOCIAL

Saturday, August 20, 6 - 8 pm

THE SQUARE AT OLD TOWN COPPELL, 768 W. MAIN STREET

Celebrate the start of the new school year with ice cream in Old Town Coppell ! Icy treats will be available for purchase from some of DFWs most popular ice cream trucks including Coolhaus, Kona Ice, Wild Catter Coffee, and Fried Pies for All.  Old Town favorites, Local Diner and Frost Cupcakery will also be in attendance. Many sellers will accept credit and debit cards, but attendees are encouraged to bring cash.

Kids can have their faces painted, visit a balloon artist, play on the farm-themed playground, and splash in the Main Street Interactive Fountain. The City of Coppell will be collecting school supplies for the “Buy One, Give One” Back to School Supply Drive at this event. Attendees who donate supplies at the event will receive a free snow cone from Kona Ice. ​​​

*Please Note* - Due to the current redevelopment project, special event applications wil not be accepted for Andy Brown Park until Summer 2017. Applications will still be accepted for the Town Center Plaza and Old Town.

FUL INFORMATION
  • Please allow 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process your application.
  • Please submit your application 60 days prior to the actual event date. This amount of time is required before your event date can be confirmed.
  • Depending on the details of your event, you may be asked to attend a meeting to elaborate on your application.
  • You may be required to submit specific insurance for your event.
  • Please note that there is an application fee of $250.  Other permit fees may apply.
  • All events hosted in a City of Coppell park must observe the "lightning detection system" if one is present in the park you have reserved.

DEFINITION OF A SPECIAL EVENT

Article 6-5, Section 6-5-1: Definition of "special event" - a temporary event or gathering using either private or public property, which involves one or more of the following activities, except when the activity is for construction or house moving purposes only;
  • Closing a public street;
  • Blocking or restriction of public property, limiting the use of parks by the general public, and streets;
  • Offer of merchandise, food, or beverages on public property or on private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance;
  • Erection of a tent on public property, or on private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance;
  • Installation of a stage, band shell, trailer, van, portable building, grandstand or bleachers on public property, or on private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance;
  • Placement of portable toilets on public property, or on private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance;
  • Placement of temporary "no parking" signs in a public right-of-way
