Clik here to view.The City of Coppell is now accepting appli​cations​ for Leadership Coppell, an innovative program designed to bring together civic-minded individuals in a forum encouraging learning, questioning and planning. Eight, full-day sessions are scheduled to begin February 21, 2019. 

Leadership Coppell is a dynamic, hands-on, community leadership program that immerses participants in executive-level leadership training through experiential sessions designed to educate residents about Coppell's history, government, economics and city organizations. This program is beneficial for community members who are considering taking an active role in Coppell's future. Participants will be challenged and engaged by emerging and existing leaders who come from a diverse array of professions and passions.

Since the program's inception, Leadership Coppell graduates have moved on to serve as mayor, city council members, boards and commissions members, and as knowledgeable leaders in their own respective neighborhoods and organizations. While the intent of Leadership Coppell is to benefit the greater Coppell community, participants benefit in their homes, neighborhoods, and businesses as well.

Participants of the program make powerful connections and develop key skills for busi​ness and community success. Individuals new to Coppell obtain an in-depth understanding of the community that, outside of the program, could take years to acquire. Long-time residents deepen and broaden their understanding of Coppell and benefit from access to community leaders. Retirees seeking the opportunity to re-engage in the community can jump-start their volunteer career as well. 

Applications can be found online and must be submitted by February 1, 2019. Submissions will be reviewed, and an acceptance announcement will be shared with eligible participants by February 11, 2019. 

Leadership Coppell has a $150 tuition fee, which includes all of the materials for the program. Each day of class will include one morning session (8:30 am-noon) and one afternoon session (1-4:30 pm). Breakfast and lunch are included with each session. There will be eight full-day classes, and participants are allowed to miss two half-day sessions during the semester in the event of scheduling conflicts. A graduation ceremony and reception will be held in conjunction with the Tu​esday, June 11 City Council meeting.
