​Bethel Road from Penfolds Lane to S. Coppell Road/ Mitchell Street 

& Coppell Road from Bethel Road to Cooper Lane

Design plans were completed by Freese & Nichols Inc August 2014.  Construction began on March 30, 2015.  The project consists of the reconstruction of the existing two-lane asphalt road, storm drain improvements, and the replacement of water and sewer lines and connection connecting trails & sidewalks in the area. Estimated completion of this project is Spring 2017.  If you have questions about this project please contact George S. UPDATE: Project is 95% complete. Bethel Road is officially open to two-way traffic. Crews will continue to complete finish out items over the next couple weeks, causing lane closures here and there, but we are almost finished. The Engineering Department anticipates 100% completion by end of February 2017.

​​Tax 2015A Neighborhood Alley Replacement Project

Selected neighborhood alleyways were chosen to be reconstructed. Impacted alleyways are associated with Parkview Place, Meadowood Lane, Quiet Valley Drive, Lea Meadow Drive, Clear Haven Drive, Still Forest Drive, Shadowcrest Lane & Havecrest Lane. Construction is scheduled to start in late Summer 2016 and is anticipated to complete in Spring 2017. The project was awarded to Advance Contracting Group in the amount of $795,864.00. Caution should be exercised by anyone travelling within the alley construction zone.

Tax 2014B Burns Street​​​ Reconstruction Project

Burns Street is to be reconstructed in its entirety from Freeport to South Coppell Road and will include new paving and underground utlity lines, improved drainage & sidewalks. Construction is scheduled to begin Fall 2016 and is anticipated to complete late Summer 2017. This project was awarded to RKM Utility Services in the amount of $989,135.00.

PROJECTS IN DESIGN​​​​​​

ST 15-01A Freeport Parkway (Bethel Road to I635)

A design contract for Freeport Parkway improvements was awarded to J. Volk Consulting in December 2015 for a total contract amount of $726,000.00. The Design will include all work necessary for the reconstruction of the road and a realignment of the existing bridge. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2017.

Tax 2014A Parkway Boulevard​

A design contract for the Parkway Blvd. improvements was awarded to J. Volk Consultants, Inc. in August 2015.  The project consists of concrete panel replacement, crack repairs, utility upgrades and sidewalk ramp improvements.  The project will also improve drainage.  Construction is anticipated to begin in 2017.

Tax 2015B Plantation Drive & Mossy Oaks Street

A design contract for the Plantation Drive & Mossy Oaks Street improvements was awarded to Pape-Dawson Engineers in March 2016.  The project consists of complete street replacement, utility upgrades and sidewalk ramp replacement.  The project will also improve drainage.  Construction is anticipated to begin in 2017.

Tax 2014C Town Center Boulevard Reconstruction Project

The design for these improvements is currently underway with JQ Infrastructure. The project will impact the portion from the Town Center Shopping Center to north of the intersection of Town Center Drive. The project includes complete pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades and sidewalk infill.

Sidewalk repair process

1. Damaged sidewalk is demolished & removed

2. Ground is compatced & prepared

3. Wood forms are set and rebar is placed

4. Concrete is poured & cures/dries typically 24-72 hours

5. Control Joints are sawcut and sealant is applied to expansion joints, if any​
