Council member Nancy Yingling has served in Place 5 since 2014. She currently serves as the city's liaison to The North Texas Commission and Northlake College. As a graduate of North Texas Commissions Leadership North Texas (LNT) Class 7, she is currently serving as the LNT Alumni Chairperson and participates on the LNT selection committee. Councilmember Yingling has served on the on the National League of Cities Community and Economic Development Committee and the North Central Texas Council of Government's Emergency Preparedness Planning Council. Ms. Yingling served as Mayor Pro Tem for a one-year term from 2017-2018. Councilmember Yingling has been a long time community volunteer. Some of the highlights include participating as a Facilitator for the Coppell Chamber of Commerce Teen Leadership program, involved in the building of the original Kid Country Playground, served as the city's Red Cross Representative and served as Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) team member. She was honored as Civilian of the Year from the Coppell Fire Department, received proclamation from Mayor for organizing 9/11 fundraiser and participated on numerous boards, and served on the City Manager's Advisory Committee. Councilmember Yingling is currently a small business owner. Prior to that she worked with ClubCorp as a Director of Sales, as well as 21 years with Delta Air Lines, Inc. where she worked as an Operations Specialist. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Eastern Illinois University. She and her husband Keith moved to Coppell in 1990 and have two children. The Yingling family attends Irving Bible Church. She is an avid traveler and spends a lot of time in the Central Coast of California.
