Unless otherwise specified, these closures will be in effect through 11 a.m. on Friday, March 20. The closures are subject to change as circumstances warrant. 

Citywide closures

  • ​Community gatherings of 50 persons or more anywhere in the city of Coppell is prohibited.
  • Dallas County and the City of Coppell strongly recommend following social distancing protocols, including canceling, rescheduling, or not attending events with more than 50 persons. 
  • It is strongly recommended that high-risk individuals (as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) not attend events that are likely to have more than 10 people.  
  • Restaurants with or without a drive-in or drive-through services may only provide takeout, delivery or drive through service, as allowed by law. Check with our local restaurants to see about delivery or takeout options!
  • Microbreweries, micro-distilleries, or wineries may only provide take out, delivery, or drive-through services as allowed by law.
  • Bars, lounges, taverns, or arcades and private clubs shall close.
  • Organizations that serve high-risk populations are urged to cancel gatherings of more than 10 people.
  • Coppell residents are urged to not attend non-essential gatherings to help slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

City of Coppell Facilities & Event closures

  • ​All dockets, trials and hearings at the Coppell Municipal Court have been postponed through May 8, 2020. Jail hearings will proceed as normal.
  • ​The Coppell Senior and Community Center is closed to the public. Please contact the Center at 972-462-5143 regarding rental reservations.
  • The CORE is closed to the public.
  • Wagon Wheel Tennis Center is closed to the public. There will be no private lessons.
  • The Biodiversity Education Center is closed to the public. All planned activities are canceled.
  • The Cozby Library and Community Commons is closed to the public. All planned activities are canceled.
  • Life Safety Park is closed to the public. All planned activities are canceled.
  • The Sunset Social scheduled for Friday, March 20 in Old Town is canceled and will not be rescheduled.
  • Rolling Oaks Memorial Center will be holding scheduled services and meeting with families in need of services. The columbarium will remain open during normal operating hours for family visitation.
  • Legally mandated public meetings – meetings of the Coppell City Council Meetings and the Planning and Zoning Commission – will continue as scheduled. All other board and commission meetings have been canceled.
  • Coppell Town Center will be open during regular business hours during this time.​​​​
