​​​​​​​​​RESIDENTIAL / INSURANCE CRIME PREVENTION INSPECTION:

A Crime Prevention Officer is available to conduct a security survey of your residence. The service is free and may be used for residential insurance reduction. The Crime Prevention Officer will offer suggestions regarding external and internal lighting, security locks, exterior foliage and fencing, alarms etc. To schedule a Crime Prevention Survey please contact Officer Peter Dirks at pdirks@coppelltx.gov.

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM:

Numerous Coppell neighborhoods have initiated Neighborhood Watch programs. Neighborhood Watch Programs receive basic crime awareness training and are encouraged to assist law enforcement with reporting suspicious activity. If you are interested in becoming a member of a neighborhood watch or initiating a Neighborhood Watch, please call Officer Peter Dirks at 972-304-3625.

WOMEN'S SELF-DEFENSE:

Free Self Defense courses structured for women are available throughout the year.  The curriculum is designed to provide the necessary tools a woman needs to defend herself against a possible attacker.  The program is instructed by Coppell Police Officers and does involve physical elements such as striking, kicking and blocking techniques.  If you are interested or have any questions about the program, please contact Officer Peter Dirks at 972-304-3625.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS/DRUG AND ALCOHOL EDUCATION:

The Coppell Police Department, in partnership with the Coppell Independent School District, takes a very proactive stance against drug use. One of our primary tools is a specifically designed program used to educate and inform our citizens, both school-age children and adults alike. A large portion of this curriculum centers on strategies students can use to avoid becoming involved with narcotics and their ultimate consequences. Other parts include dealing with peer pressure, avoiding conflict and developing good decision-making skills. MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT REPORTS:

A copy of a motor vehicle accident report is generally available within three working days of the actual collision. Reports can be obtained at 130 Town Center Blvd., Coppell, Texas, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact the Police Records Section at 972-304-3620.

RESIDENTIAL ALARM REGISTRATION AND RENEWAL:

All monitored residential and business alarms within the city limits of Coppell must be registered. Alarm permits must also be renewed on a yearly basis. If you have any further questions please contact the Police Department at 972-304-3620.
