The Finance Department's function is to collect, disburse, safeguard, invest and maintain records of the City's assets. The Finance Department is comprised of the Finance, Purchasing, Tax, Combined Services, and Utility Billing divisions.
The 2020-2021 adopted budget is available for public review. The adopted tax rate for the 2020 tax year is $0.5800 per $100 valuation; this is a lower rate than tax year 2019. The Notice of 2020 Tax Rates can be viewed here. The rates published in the notice are calculated by Dallas County in accordance with Texas Tax Code and were not being considered for adoption.
