The purpose of Make a Child Smile (intended solely for children enrolled in CISD and residing within the city limits of Coppell) is just what it says - to do our part to put big, happy smiles on the faces of all children in Coppell at Christmas time.
In previous years, the generosity and kindness of Coppell businesses and citizens have enabled us to provide each child in our program with a toy and an article of clothing. City employees donate their time to separate, bag, and deliver the gifts to the families approximately one week before Christmas.
Some families may be experiencing temporary circumstances and may need a little extra help during the holiday season. The City does not want the name of the child or family. All we need is an address, child's gender, child's age, child's clothing size, and child's hobbies/interests. Also, any information about other children in the family – from infants through seniors in high school - is greatly appreciated. This helps us ensure that all children in the family receive gifts and that no child is left out or overlooked.

How to Donate: (please note differences due to COVID-19)
- Digital ornaments will be available online beginning November 1st through December 6th, 2020. All DIGITAL ornaments will include a child's gift preferences, clothing sizes, and more. Ornament requests can also be made online by emailing aparker@coppelltx.gov.
- Purchase clothing and/or toys for the child. The program's goal is to provide at least one toy and one article of clothing for each child.
- When you are ready to return your gifts, please contact Andrea Parker at aparker@coppelltx.gov to schedule an appointment for drop off.
- Please return all wrapped gifts, in a opaque bag with the Family number, and age of the child attached to the bag, to the City Manager's Office no later than Tuesday, December 10. City staff will deliver the gifts prior to Christmas.
The City Manager's Office is located on the second floor of Town Center, 255 E. Parkway Blvd. and is open by appointment only, except during holiday hours.
