​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The City of Coppell supports an Open Government philosophy and has established a comprehensive online resource for citizens to review a variety of government documents and provide a forum to address any questions that arise.  

Bond Information

The City of Coppell is reviewed and rated by two separate rating agencies.  The City of Coppell maintains a Aaa​ rating with Moody's and a AAA rating with Standard and Poor's. There are not any bond elections currently scheduled.

The City Budget is an annual document that outlines revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year, in accordance with citizen needs and expectations.

BUDGET WORKSHOPS

The City holds budget workshops throughout the year to allow City Council to discuss budgetary objectives and provide staff with direction on compiling the annual operating budget. These workshops are open to the public for observation and include an opportunity for citizens' appearance. No formal action is taken by Council during these work sessions. Debt Obligation

When issuing debt ob​​ligations, the City of Coppell adheres to its Debt Policy.  
The total amount of municipal debt obligation secured by property taxes for the City of Coppell, as of September 30, 2019, is $67,660​,000.  The debt requirements for the outstanding obligations, as presented in the budget, can be viewed here.

GFOA (Government Finance Officers Association)

​​The City of Coppell participates in the Government Finance Officers Association award programs for both the Annual Budget and the CAFR.  The City has received the award for the Distinguished Budget Presentation for 11​ years in a row and the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 30 years in a row.  Please visit the GFOA Awards site for more information.

Tax Rate

The adopted 2020 property tax rate is $0.580​0 per $100 valuation. Per Tax Code, the calculation of the no-new-revenue and voter approval rates performed by Dallas County can be viewed here​. 
The current 2019​ property tax rate is $0.5840 per $100 valuation. ​​
