Projects under Construction
#ST 03-01C – BETHEL & COPPELL ROAD (Bethel Road from Penfolds Lane to S. Coppell Road/Mitchell Street & Coppell Road from Bethel Road to Cooper Lane)
Design Plans were completed by Freese & Nichols Inc. August 2014. The project consists of the reconstruction of the existing 2-lane asphalt road, storm drain improvements, and the replacement of water and sewer lines and connecting trails & sidewalks in the area. The reconstruction project was awarded to Tiseo Paving in September 2014. Franchise Utilities (telephone, power, gas, etc.) have some poles still in the way at this time. The Engineering Department anticipates beginning construction the end of November 2016.
During Construction various portions of the roadways will become one way:
- Coppell Road will be northbound only from Bethel Road to Ruby Road
- Bethel Road will be westbound only from Penfolds Lane to S. Coppell Road/Mitchell Street.

TAX 2012B EDGEWOOD DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
TAX 2013C HIGHLAND MEADOW CIRCLE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Edgewood Drive is to be reconstructed from Braewood to Heatherglen Drive and will include new underground utility lines, improved drainage and sidewalks. Highland Meadow Circle, will be reconstructed in its entirety with new underground utilities, improved drainage and new sidewalks. Edgewood construction is scheduled to start in June 2015 and Highland Meadow Circle will be starting in July 2015 . Both streets are anticipated to complete in spring 2016. This project was awarded to CD Builders in the amount of $2,376,151.00.

TAX 2015A NEIGHBORHOOD ALLEY REPLACEMENT PROJECT
Selected neighborhood alleyways were chosen to be reconstructed. Impacted alleyways are associated with Parkview Place, Meadowood Land, Quiet Valley Drive, Lea Meadow Drive, Clear Haven Drive, Still Forest Drive, Shadowcrest Lane and Havencrest Lane. Construction is scheduled to start in late summer 2016 and is anticipated to complete in spring 2017. This project was awarded Advance Contracting Group in the amount of $795,864.00. Caution should be exercised by anyone travelling within the alley construction zone.

TAX 2014B BURNS DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION STREET PROJECT
Burns Street is to be reconstructed in its entirety from Freeport to South Coppell Road and will include new paving and underground utility lines, improved drainage and sidewalks. Construction is scheduled to start fall 2016 and is anticipated to complete late summer 2017. This project was awarded to RKM Utility Services in the amount of $989,135.00

#ST 15-01A - FREEPORT PARKWAY, (Bethel Rd. to I635)
A design contract for Freeport Parkway improvements was awarded to J. Volk Consulting in December 2015 for a total contract amount of $726,000. The design will include all work necessary for the reconstruction of the road and a realignment of the existing bridge. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2017.

A design contract for the Parkway Blvd. improvements was awarded to J. Volk Consultants, Inc. in August 2015. The project consists of concrete panel replacement, crack repairs, utility upgrades and sidewalk ramp improvements. The project will also improve drainage. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2016.

TAX 2015B PLANTATION DRIVE AND MOSSY OAKS STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The design for these improvements is currently underway with Pape-Dawson Engineers. The project will impact the entire length of Plantation Drive and Mossy Oaks Street. The project includes complete pavement reconstruction and utility upgrades.

TAX 2014C TOWN CENTER BOULEVARD RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The design for these improvements is currently underway with JQ Infrastructure. The project will impact the portion from the Town Center Shopping Center to north of the intersection of Town Center Drive. The project includes complete pavement reconstruction, utility upgrades and sidewalk infill.
