Current Class Offerings

New! Science & Safety School PROGRAMming

We’re proud to accommodate larger class sizes, as well as joint field trip opportunities with the Coppell Biodiversity Education Center (BEC)! While one group of up to 60 students visits the Life Safety Park for the hour and a half session, another group of 60 students will participate in Biodiversity Education Center programming at the same time. After a lunch break, the groups will then get to switch venues and enjoy what both facilities have to offer. Your visit to the LSP will include an educational safety lesson, with topic determined by grade level, as well as hands-on time around Safety Town. Your visit to the BEC, should you choose this additional option, will include a naturalist education program, adventure hike, and game of your choice. These study trips are geared towards Kindergarten through 5th Grade students.
More information on specific class offerings, and online registration can be found by clicking the blue 'Register Here' button above. Or, click here to see a flyer.

Severe Weather Awareness Course

Life Safety Park is offering a free severe weather awareness course for older children (16-18+) and adults. With Spring and severe weather right around the corner, join Life Safety Park and CBS 11 Meteorologist Jeff Ray on Monday, February 26th from 6:30-8:00 PM for an engaging and en”lightning” course on severe weather awareness. Topics covered will include local hazard risk statistics—what weather impacts us most—weather myths and facts, and how you can best prepare yourself and your families for when the weather turns ugly. Learn what a day in the life of a broadcast meteorologist is like. This class will be interactive, so please bring your mobile phone or tablet device! To register or for more information, click here.

Water/swimming safety COURSE

With summer right around the corner, refresh your water and swimming safety knowledge by attending this 45-minute course provided by a certified Emler Swim School instructor! The course's safety presentation will last approximately 20-30 minutes, with the remaining time open for question-and-answer and discussion. Please note that this class is entirely classroom-based, and does NOT include pool or water time. The presentation will provide a water and swimming safety overview for young children and their parents, with topics such as drowning statistics, drowning prevention, and general water safety tips. The target age group is 5-10 year olds & their parents, but the class is open to all ages and 'water watchers.' Class will take place Tuesday, March 6th from 6:00-6:45 PM. For more information or to register, please click here.

Spring Break Safety Classes

CPR-AED
CPR classes are held once a month at the Life Safety Park. Please note that this class does not provide the certification needed for some professions. This class fills up fast! To register, please click here and search for CPR.

Boy scouts | girl scouts

The Life Safety Park is currently devising a new policy regarding non-school related study trips. We offer consolidated courses that cover frequently requested scout requirements (such as first aid, meeting a first responder, and disaster preparedness). This monthly offering will occur based on demand, and on a day outside of normal business hours, such as weekday evenings or weekend afternoons. Due to this "block" scheduling, some scout groups may be combined with other similarly aged groups requesting the same course topic. Classes will be approximately one hour in length, and are capped at 45 students per session. Click the 'Register Here' button above to view our calendar of available classes.
Please inquire should you have any questions or class requests.
