SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
June 2 - July 31
Read for prizes! It's easy to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge. Keep track of everything online! Everyone can participate.
- Visit the library catalog to sign-up. Create a family account under one login to keep track of everyone.
- Log each day that you read. When you reach 10 days, you'll get an entry into our Grand Prize Drawing!
- When you read 20 days, you'll get a FREE book (while supplies last) and an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing.
- At 30 days, you'll get another entry into our Grand Prize Drawing.
- At 40 days, kids get an invitation to our VIP Pool Party*, teens get an invitation to our Pizza Party, and adults get a Friends of the Library travel mug. Everyone gets an entry into our Prize Drawing! *Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
- The first day to log your reading is Saturday, June 2.
- The last day to log your reading is Tuesday, July 31.
- There will be Grand Prize winners for kids, teens, and adults.
SUMMER READING KICKOFF PARTY

Libraries Rock! Dance, sing, and rock with the library at our Summer Reading Kickoff celebration. All ages can sign-up for the Summer Reading Challenge on Saturday, June 2. Enjoy a musical instrument petting zoo, live music, and more! All ages welcome.
OPERA ON TAP
Sunday, June 10 at 2 pm
Enjoy performances by classically trained singers! Opera on Tap's mission is to expose new audiences to opera and classical music, aid young performers in their development, and promote new classical works. All ages welcome. www.operaontap.org
FIFA TOURNAMENT
Saturday, June 16 from 10 am - 5 pm
Get ready for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a tournament in the Meeting Room! Pick your country and play for the cup! We will have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The games will have 3 minute halves. May the best player win! Players need to be entering grades 6 and older to compete. COPPELL COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA

Got a toaster that doesn't toast? A shirt with missing buttons? Stop by the RepairCon to connect with people in the community that have the skills and knowledge to show you how to repair things like household appliances, clothes, jewelry, toys, guitars, and more! STORYTIMES
ONES UPON A TIME

A one-derful storytime for children 12-24 months of age and their adult caregiver. Short stories, music, rhymes, and movement activities are incorporated in this action-packed program that engages new walkers in language based activities.
BABY AND ME
Mondays at 11 am
Babies from birth to crawling and their favorite adult will enjoy songs, action rhymes, and share books together in this one-on-one lapsit program. This storytime is designed to be a springboard for literacy, by exploring the senses with music, action rhymes, and age appropriate reading. Come prepared to have fun with baby.
FAMILY STORYTIME
Tuesdays at 7 pm
All ages are welcome at Family Storytime, which incorporates stories, songs, rhymes, and more into a fun and interactive experience for the whole family.
TODDLER TIME
Wednesdays at 10:30 and 11:15 am
A storytime for 2 and 3 year olds (with their favorite adult) who are ready to sit and enjoy interactive stories, songs, and games that encourage their emerging language skills. This program will introduce young children to the joys of language and literature.
ALL BY MYSELF
Thursdays at 10:30 am
Storytime for 3 to 5 year olds who are ready to attend independently. This storytime is designed to foster a smooth transition into school and is the only storytime that children attend without their adult caregiver. This fun and interactive program combines activities such as read-aloud stories, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays. It introduces children to listening skills, the library, and the joy of reading.
SPLISH SPLASH STORYTIME
Fridays June 8 - August 3 at 11 am ( No Splish Splash Friday, July 6)
A special storytime at the pool! The CORE and the Cozby Library are partnering again this summer to offer Splish Splash Storytime, in conjunction with Tot Swim. Meet at the pool for stories, songs, splashing, and fun! Storytime is free and will take place in the outdoor pool. Those who wish to stay and swim can do so until 12:45 pm. If you would like to stay and swim after 12:45 pm, you will need to have a CORE membership, punch pass, or pay the regular day pass rate. For parents and children up to age 8. The CORE is located at 234 E Parkway Blvd.
SECOND SATURDAY STORYTIME
Second Saturday of every month at 11 am
A special storytime presented to children of working parents and everyone who cannot attend regular weekday storytimes.
1000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN
The goal is to read 1000 books to your child before they start Kindergarten. Parents, grandparents, and older siblings can help your child meet this challenge. Books read to them at storytimes and daycare can be included. Books can be repeated too! Reading to your child improves vocabulary and language skills, improves concentration, and is a great way to strengthen your relationship.
